ESYsunhome says its updated HM home energy storage range will deliver higher peak output, faster power switchover, and configurations designed for different household energy needs when the company presents the products at All-Energy Australia 2026 in Melbourne.

In a LinkedIn announcement published on 15 October, the company outlined changes across five models, spanning 5 kW and 6 kW single-phase systems to 10 kW, 15 kW and 20 kW three-phase models.

The announcement gives Australian homeowners a clearer picture of what ESYsunhome plans to bring to the exhibition on 28–29 October. However, the advertised performance improvements still need to be assessed against the full technical specifications and the requirements of individual homes.

What Has ESYsunhome Changed in Its HM Range?

The company’s announcement identifies two groups of systems, with different output ratings and battery configurations.

The single-phase HM5-II and HM6-II models are rated at 5 kW and 6 kW, respectively. ESYsunhome says these systems support battery storage configurations from 5 kWh to 30 kWh, with maximum photovoltaic input and peak output figures increased to 10 kW and 12 kW,, respectively.

The company also says the updated single-phase systems have a switchover time of less than 10 milliseconds. This refers to the time needed to switch to backup power, although the actual backup performance will depend on the system configuration and connected loads.

The three-phase range comprises the HM10-H-II, HM15-II and HM20-II, with rated inverter outputs of 10 kW, 15 kW and 20 kW.

ESYsunhome says peak output has increased to 20 kW, 30 kW and 40 kW across these models. It also advertises a cycle life of 10,000 cycles for the updated three-phase range.

These figures describe different aspects of system performance. Rated inverter output indicates the system’s normal power-conversion capacity, while peak output refers to a higher output available under specified conditions. Homeowners should check the datasheets to establish how long peak output can be sustained and what limits apply.

How Much Battery Storage Will the Systems Support?

Battery capacity is another important part of the announcement because household electricity needs vary considerably.

ESYsunhome says its single-phase systems can be configured with 5–30 kWh of storage, while its three-phase offering can support configurations reaching 90 kWh.

That gives the range options for households with different storage requirements, but a larger battery is not automatically a better investment.

A household that uses most of its electricity during the day may need less storage than one that relies on battery power throughout the evening. Households planning to run several high-powered appliances during an outage must also consider inverter output, backup functionality and the loads the system can support simultaneously.

The right configuration therefore depends on electricity consumption, rooftop solar generation, backup requirements and the cost of installing the complete system.

What Does ESYsunhome’s Eight-Layer Protection Claim Mean?

ESYsunhome is also promoting what it calls an eight-layer protection system across the announced range.

According to the company, the listed features include an IP66-rated enclosure, an impact-resistant alloy casing, continuous cell monitoring, more than 50 battery management system protection strategies, faulty-module isolation, high-temperature heat insulation, integrated fire suppression and a two-layer electrical cutoff.

These features address different potential risks, from exposure to dust and water to electrical faults and battery overheating.

However, the announcement alone does not establish the independent performance of every protection feature. Buyers and installers should review the applicable product documentation, certifications and installation requirements before drawing conclusions about safety.

The IP66 rating, for example, relates to protection against dust and water ingress. It does not, by itself, establish that an entire battery installation is suitable for every outdoor location or installation condition.

When Can Australians See the Updated HM Systems?

ESYsunhome plans to present the HM range at All-Energy Australia 2026, which takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 28–29 October.

The company has listed Booth D135 and says visitors will be able to view the product lineup, ask questions and explore configurations ranging from smaller single-phase systems to larger three-phase installations.

Its announcement does not establish the final Australian retail prices or confirm the availability date of every updated model. Those details will matter to households comparing the systems with other battery options.

Australian buyers should also confirm the exact model’s approval status and eligibility under applicable incentive programs before committing to a purchase. Approval of one model should not be assumed to cover every model in a product family.

What We Think

ESYsunhome is bringing an updated HM energy storage range to Melbourne with advertised improvements to peak output, switchover time and battery protection features.

The range covers single-phase systems for smaller installations and three-phase models aimed at higher power demands, with storage configurations reaching 90 kWh. Whether those options offer good value for Australian households will depend on their final prices, verified specifications and installation requirements.

We will be following the All-Energy Australia unveiling closely. The next details to watch are the full datasheets, confirmed Australian availability, pricing, and independent verification of the advertised performance claims. These will help homeowners understand whether the updated HM systems deserve a place on their battery shortlist.
